Opened up Excel and went to File, Options, Advanced and under the Display section increased the number of recent files listed from 10 to 20. So I did a quick internet search and did as others suggested and Which meant, maybe I wasn't seeing these items because I had more than 8. Remembering back to the excel jump list I used to use on my old system, I realized I most likely had more than 8 items. Then I started to count the number of items I had pinned in Word and counted 8 items. I started thinking about the problem, as I do most work days, and why it is that my jump list and recent items worked with the MS Word task bar shortcut but not Excel.
